A group of visitors from Aurillac were due to arrive on 22 November to inspect Adrenaline Alley in Corby and on the following day visit six of our Leader projects.
The new stable block will provide a full livery for ten horses and includes a menage for exercising and schooling. Recently re-opened bridleways provide an added benefit and allow additional safe off road exercise facilities.
Rock UK Adventure Centre Ltd based in Irthlingborough has successfully bid for LEADER funding to construct a new crossing over the river to provide access to Stanwick Lakes Number 5. Cottingham and Middleton Village Shop &Cafe opened on Friday September 2nd 2011 with the aid of LEADER funding. £58,000 has been awarded towards the project and residents also raised funds by buying shares. The Tollemarche Arms’ (Harrington) new playground facility will soon be ready. Work is due to commence 4th April with a target completion date of 8th April.
The Collyweston Community Shop has been Nominated for Community Champion Awards which is sponsored by Cummins.
A village public house and restaurant will be catering for the tastes of youngsters with the development of a playground facility as an addition to a kitchen refurbishment. The amenity will also be available for use by village children.
The first project under this measure involves using part of the existing farm yard to create a stable block and ménage.
LEADER funding is assisting with an ambitious project upgrading and converting a Grade 2 listed building which will further enhance the tourist offer of the River Nene.
